Julio Cesar da Matta e Andrade
Julio Cesar da Matta e Andrade is an agronomist engineer and specialist in Environmental Planning, Expertise and Environmental Auditing and Mineral Plant Nutrition. He holds a Master’s and PhD in Environmental Geotechnics from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and currently works as an environmental engineer at Petrobras. He is experienced in the research and recovery of degraded areas due to contamination, he has developed several works on the implantation of arboreal and shrub species in the vegetation of landfills or urban solid wastes and also on the transport of heavy metals.

Sílvio Roberto de Lucena Tavares
Sílvio Roberto de Lucena Tavares is an agronomist engineer and specialist in Engineering of Irrigation, Agricultural Drainage and Pressurized Irrigation. He is doing his PhD studies in Environmental Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. As a researcher at Embrapa, his research lines are: phytoremediation of soils and water contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons and heavy metals, and recovery of degraded and/or contaminated areas both in rural and urban environments.
Cláudio Fernando Mahler
Cláudio Fernando Mahler is a professor at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, having specialized in Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering. He is a “livre-docente” professor at the School of Public Health at University of São Paulo (USP). He has developed research projects with the Waste Department of Braunschweig University of Technology, the Institute of Environmental Systems Research of Osnabrück University, the INSA Lyon (France) and the North Carolina State University (USA). He has published over 240 papers in national and international congresses and journals.
