Slope stability: practical exercises
Alberto Pio Fiori
Slope Stability: practical exercises illustrates, through several exercises, slope study cases, offering step-by-step resolutions and explaining how to apply the main concepts of Soil Mechanics and Rocks and theoretical and empirical analysis techniques.
The work presents sections on stability analysis of finite and infinite slopes, the role of rainfall intensity and recurrent landslides. The only book to deal with rocky slope stability due to wedge breaks and planar landslides, presents two chapters on stereographic projection to support the analysis. Originally present in the book Fundamentals of Soil Mechanics and Rocks, they are complemented in this edition with didactic exercises solved. It is a practical and basic benchmark for determining the slope safety factor, designing containment works or planning mitigation measures.
