Solid Waste Management in the Building Construction

André Nagalli

The increasing awareness of the environmental impact, resulted from the construction and demolition wastes, historically ignored by the construction industry, has turned the discussion about their correct managing more relevant, now seen as an issue of business, social, environmental and legal responsability.

Solid Waste Management in the Building Construction approaches the wastes classification and quantification, collection, transportation and final destination. It also highlights the importance of the managing in the source, the reuse, the recycling and environmentally correct disposal.

The book presents the Brazilian legislation and technical rules regarding the subject, as well as detailed explanations on the adequate preparation and organization of a construction site. The practical approach and exercises throughout the chapters make its application and comprehension much easier to follow.
